Afterwards she returned helpless from her run from the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown on 30, john Oxx has called time on the racing career of Group One-winning filly Skitter Scatter.
The daughter of Scat Daddy won four of the seven starts as a juvenile year – ending her effort with a top-level triumph from the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh 12 weeks ago.
With trainer Patrick Prendergast retiring in the coaching positions during the off-season to combine forces after enduring a muscle trauma Skitter Scatter made her first start to get her coach in the 1000 Guineas but frustrated.
She left an encouraging return from a near absence when runner-up in the Group Three Fairy Bridge Stakes at Tipperary however trailed house last of seven rebounds in the Matron and she’ll now be retired to the paddocks.
“Skitter Scatter was retired and will return to Airlie Stud,” Oxx said.
“She wasn’t moving amazing at the end (of the race) and was so lame afterwards. She ran well and came out of it alright. She was lovely since then and her actions was nice, however, the racecourse would be the ultimate test.
“She’s won a Group One, Group 2 and a Group Three. She’s a pedigree that is very.
“Her career might have been a lot better. The capability and enthusiasm was still there, but unfortunately injury has attracted her racing career to an end.”
